Great Wine Capitals

The Great Wine Capitals Global Network (GWCGN) is a highly successful concept that commenced in 1999 providing a unique and special appeal for cities/wine regions, all individuals and professionals with interest or direct involvement in the wine and wine tourism industries.

Established as a community of global cities sharing a common economic and cultural asset, their connection to internationally renowned wine regions, the Great Wine Capitals Global Network brings 11 global capitals of wine together under a shared brand.

The Network exists to link cities connected to great wine regions to sustain the health and prosperity of the wine related industries, communities and tourism.

It is the only such Network and it aims to encourage travel, education and business exchanges between the prestigious wine regions of Adelaide | South Australia, Bilbao | Rioja, Bordeaux, Cape Town | Cape Winelands, Lausanne, Mainz | Rheinhessen, Mendoza, Porto, San Francisco | Napa Valley, Valparaiso | Casablanca Valley and Verona.
