When Antonella Manuli founded Fattoria La Maliosa, her goal was to enhance the original characteristics of the hilly Maremma region. She was the first to launch a sustainable agricultural project in this area of Southern Tuscany, driven by the belief in its potential, its uncontaminated environment, and the health benefits it could offer — all considered essential pillars of the initiative.
For Antonella, La Maliosa is a project deeply rooted in its territory and in the products that best represent it: wine and olive oil. It reflects her vision of a new, possible world — one in which a different model of agriculture can thrive, grounded in greater respect for both nature and people.
Antonella is, above all, a woman entrepreneur with a life journey that spans Italy, Switzerland, and the United States, where she completed her university studies. Her professional background began in the economic and corporate sector and continued with a decade of work at the nearby Terme di Saturnia Spa Resort. It was during this time that she fell in love with the land, and in the mid-2000s, she conceived the idea of the sustainable agricultural project that would later become La Maliosa.
In 2013, thanks to her collaboration with agronomist and researcher Lorenzo Corino, Antonella developed and consolidated a series of highly innovative agronomic practices aimed at increasing the sustainability of wine and olive oil production. These techniques are now codified under the name “Metodo Corino”, a registered patent and trademark.
Together with Lorenzo Corino, she also engaged in several cultural outreach and educational projects. She served as editor of his book “The Essence of Wine and Natural Viticulture” and co-authored the essay “Vegetal Biodynamics: The Future of Natural Wine,” published by the Istud Foundation and Mondadori University.
