Born in 1990, Damien Barton Sartorius grew in the middle of the family vineyards and winery. He quickly understood that there was something fascinating and fun with wine, terroir and nature. He studied wine making and vine growing before completing his knowledge with a master in international business with experiences in Bordeaux, New Zealand, London and NYC in wine production and distribution.
Having a passion for the African bush thanks to several holidays with his family, Damien passed his diplomas of Field Guide Ranger in South Africa. He is now involved in an NGO called Wild Tomorrow.
After his studies he wanted to create and work on a new way of drinking wine. More modern, fun, sustainable. With a friend, they created Barton & Joyeux where they manage brands and do consulting that focusses on sustainability in wine on all levels: production, transport, distribution, consumption…
Parallel to this, Damien Barton Sartorius is also the Director of Châteaux Langoa and Léoville Barton in Saint Julien. Following his 10th generation ancestors path, he was leader in the winery renovation and implementing more sustainable actions such as bottle weight or cardboard boxes over wood.
He now runs the distribution for Langoa Barton and Mauvesin Barton with his sister Mélanie.
