David Picard is a winemaker and founder of Adega Belém, an urban winery in Lisbon producing still, sparkling, and fortified wines. Before turning to winemaking, he worked as a professor and researcher in the UK, Portugal, and Switzerland, focusing on coastal management and sustainable development. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics, a Master’s in Viticulture and Oenology and a PhD in Anthropology.
