Linda Johnson-Bell is a wine writer, author, editor and judge with over 30 years of experience, including twelve in France. She is the founder of the Wine and Climate Change Institute and works as a consultant in climate adaptation and mitigation, specialising in freshwater use and dry farming. In 2014, she authored one of the first books to examine the impact of climate change on wine.
Her multidisciplinary background includes international relations, law and climate adaptation, with qualifications from the University of Oxford, Oxford Brookes University, La Sorbonne and Sciences Po. She is currently a PhD researcher at the University of the Highlands and Islands’ Institute for Northern Studies.
She contributes to global climate initiatives as a contributing author to the United Nations’ Encyclopedia of Sustainable Development Goals (Goal 13: Climate Action), focusing on water management, and as an expert for reports on climate resilience for the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Nordic Development Fund. She was previously a member of the Welsh Government’s Wine Special Interest Group. Based in the UK, she continues to write on climate and the future of wine.
