Southbrook Organic Vineyards

Our wines are certified organic and biodynamic – naturally low or no sulphites – vegan.


For over 30 years, Southbrook has been crafting Ontario VQA wines made with respect for the vine and the earth in which it is grown. We begin in the vineyard, using organic, biodynamic and regenerative farming techniques that are followed by an artisanal winemaking process that permits a true expression of grape variety and terroir.

It started simply enough: To make the finest wines possible in a respectful, local, light-on-the-land fashion.

From there, things became something of an epic journey marked by hurdles and many industry firsts. Becoming growers strengthened these principles, as the control over the quality of the most vital ingredient, the grapes, shifted to the Redelmeiers’ hands. Bill also shared a belief that wine should be about pleasure, and that the job of winemaking is about creating wines that express the story both of the grapes and the ground that nourishes them.

Great wine. Our pursuit of this ideal has shown us the importance of organic and biodynamic viticulture. It has instilled in us a respect for the soil, water and ecosystems upon which great wine, and our planet, relies. From the beginning, we sought to provide a good example of what is possible in Ontario, and to pursue certification to back it up.
